Everyone knows that Orlando in Florida is the home of theme parks, but what can you do there when the theme park novelty has run out or if you don’t actually enjoy theme parks at all?

Here we share just some of the fun things to do in Orlando other than theme parks which we think will inspire you to visit this awesome holiday destination whether you love rollercoasters or not!

Visit Universal’s CityWalk

So, although it might be next to the famous Universal theme park you won’t find any rides when you spend an evening exploring the CityWalk. Instead you will be met with themed restaurants such as the Hard Rock Café and the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, mini golf, bars, and nightclubs just to name a few options.

You could also choose to catch the Blue Man Group which combines comedy, theatre, and rock with a dance party too, or head to CityWalk’s Rising Star where people sing karaoke to a live band in front of an audience!

Explore some parks

Orlando and the surrounding areas boast some stunning parks that are just waiting to be explored. Head to Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando where you can wander around the landscaped grounds admiring the plant life and birds plus get great skyline views of Orlando too.

Just 20 minutes outside of Orlando you will find Winter Park and its famous scenic boat tour which takes visitors on a one hour narrated tour of the Winter Park Chain of Lakes where you can take in sights such as waterfront mansions and a variety of wildlife.

Alligator watching

For thrills and adrenaline without heading to a theme park you won’t get much better than an alligator boat tour. Spot these dangerous creatures from the safety of a narrated airboat tour and see them in their natural habitat. There are plenty of companies to choose from so make sure you do your research before you go.

With so many fun things to do in Orlando without stepping foot in a theme park it really is a holiday destination that everyone can enjoy.
