Cooking classes are a firm favourite as they give you a skill that you can take home with you, and learning to scuba dive is a fantastic option that you can take around the world with you should your travels be taking you further than this fabulous country in the future.

Thailand is a perfectly safe country for solo travellers of both genders, but the usual safety tips apply. For example, always avoid getting into unlicensed taxis and opt for a traditional tuk tuk or licensed vehicle instead, and don’t eat or drink anything given to you by strangers, while always keeping an eye on your beverages while you’re out. To be extra safe, always carry the address of the place where you’re staying around with you in case you lose your phone, and don’t go off alone with anyone that you don’t trust.
