A Day in Prague

The beautiful capital of the Czech Republic, Prague is the perfect place for a weekend break as it offers plenty to see and do and is only around 2 hours from London by plane.

Visit the Old Town

Prague’s Old Town is full of stunning architecture, lovely statues, and a number of the city’s top landmarks, including the famous Astronomical Clock located in the square which was created in 1410 and is loved by both locals and tourists.

The square is also home to the Jan Hus monument, which symbolises strength and resistance, and the city’s striking Gothic church, Church of Our Lady before Týn, which boasts 80m towers, exquisite exterior detail, and an impressive alter.

Cross the Charles Bridge

The Charles Bridge is known as one of the most famous bridges in the world, and crosses the Vltava River to connect the Old Town with the Lesser Town. With 15 pillars, a length of 516m, and statues of Catholic saints lining it, the bridge is certainly not to be missed during a day in Prague.

Along the bridge, you will find musicians and souvenir sellers which give it a little extra atmosphere, and don’t forget to admire the towers that you will find at each end.

Head to the Lesser Town

With its cobbled streets and selection of shops, restaurants, and pubs, Prague’s Lesser Town is a great place to spend an evening, especially as you will be able to see how it looks when it is lit by lanterns. It really is like stepping back in time.

From here, walk uphill to the Castle Quarter, the largest castle complex in the world, and get lost among its palaces, churches, halls, and courtyards before heading to some of the top lookout points for views across the city.
